I don’t really know how to describe poetry. Sometimes poetry has rhymes in them, others don’t. Poems have different patterns, repetition, or have “sound” implied into them. There’s different types of poetry, like haikus, shape poems, or acrostic poems. There are also just free verse poems.

   After doing 50+ blogposts I feel like I actually committed myself to something, I usually give up on “daily” or even weekly I give up. I really don’t have much to say, as I don’t think blogs are that important in my opinion. Sharing things with people isn’t really something I do, so blogging is more of a new experience for me even though I’ve done it for a few months.

 This is a few weeks late, but still. Basically on April 27th on a Thursday, it was Greek Day. We all had our teams, I was in Sparta. First we did the sort of shop. I had brought a helmet. I ended up giving it to my friend Alyssa since I could always just make another helmet either way. After that we went to the Emerson Park and did our Olympic Games, I participated in the dash part. Once we finished with that we went inside and ate then finished watching Hercules.

Tom Holland: Tom is the bomb. Tom has a mom. Tom has a Spider-Man suit. Tom Holland what a beaut. Paisans Pizza I will perfectly nitpick and precisely part a pepperoni pizza from Paisan’s. Pterodactyl!

  At the moment one of my favorite songs is “Put Your Head On My Shoulder” by Paul Anka. One of the lyrics are “People say love is a game. A game you just can’t win.” The way I take those lyrics makes sense. A lot of people say that love sucks, because, well it does! Sometimes anyway. Like for instance when you love someone but they don’t love you back, or you get into a fight with someone you love. Like a family member, friend, or even significant other. The “game” of love can never be won, love isn’t fair. Life isn’t fair in general. Love can make you lose friends, or gain them, it’s sorta ridiculous.

  I don’t exactly have a favorite poem or favorite poet, as I am not much of a person to like poems. But I did read a poem earlier called ‘The Voice’. I am assuming this poem talks about how there is a voice in your head the tells you what is right and what is wrong. Even though it is pretty much you talking to yourself, but mentally, sometimes it feels like it takes over and controls your life.

   Who? Daniel Burnham was an architect and an urban designer. He was the Director of Works for the Chicago World’s Fairy/World’s Columbian Exposition. The landscape architect was name Fredrick Law Olmsted.    What? The fair is held to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Christopher Columbus’ arrival at America. There was a pool in the middle of the fair to represent his long trip. Chicago had bested Washington D.C., New York City, and St. Louis for the honor of hosting the fair. This fair was also the first for amusements, it had a Ferris wheel that was built by George Ferris.    When? The fair was opened on May 1st, 1893 and ended on October 30th, 1893. Which means it lasted a duration of 6 months and 29 days. Where? The World’s Columbian Exposition, was of course held in Chicago, Illinois. Why? It was made to celebrate Christopher Columbus’ 400th anniversary of arriving at America. The fair was also a prototype of what the Director of Works (Daniel Burnham) thought

  One of my quarter four goals is to participate in class more. For instance, raising my hand more often to answer questions in class. I also want to work on my communication skills while working with people I don’t know too well. I want to turn in all of the homework I get and try not to miss one assignment, if not only miss 1-3 assignments.

   During spring break, all I really did was play games on my Switch. On Wednesday, it was my friend Tiegan’s birthday. She was going to take 3 of her friends to see the movie Love, Simon. So she took me, Jimmy, and Ava. She picked me up at around 11:00 am and we left for the movies. We got popcorn and slushees, the movie was really interesting and I really enjoyed it. A few days later, I was of course, playing Splatoon 2. At 11:00 pm on Friday, April 6th, to Saturday, April 7th (also 11:00 pm) there was an event on Splatoon 2 called a Splatfest. The theme for the event was Baseball (Pearl’s Team) vs Soccer (Marina’s Team) I ended up choosing Soccer. Once the Splatfest has started I was playing for Team Soccer with my friends until around 3 AM then went to sleep. I played a bit on Saturday when I woke up until my rank was Soccer Queen. Sadly, Soccer lost and Baseball won. On my last day of Spring Break I went to a baptism for my cousins baby named Dominick.

   On Sunday while my sisters were sleeping over I had a fantastic day! I woke up at around 5 AM but I went back to sleep very soon after. I then woke up at the same time as my sister Roni, who woke up at 7 am. I got up, and went downstairs to get my Nintendo Switch. I walked back upstairs quietly not to wake up my sister and her boyfriend who were each on a couch. I sat on the floor in my room and  took out the Splatoon 2 cartridge and replaced it with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. After about 50 minutes of me playing we all got dressed and went out to eat breakfast. We went to a breakfast place called Eggbeater. Since the actual diner was full, they sent us to the bar. We sat at a long table with ten seats and one extra for some reason. A few minutes later my brother and his girlfriend showed up and we all ordered our drinks. After about 10 minutes we all ordered our food, I got the Denver Omelette. Our orders came and we all started eating. Once we finished our food my si

     During the weekend my sisters slept over! On Saturday I was waiting almost the whole day for them to come over, they ended up coming at around 6:00 pm. We all went to the kitchen and ate dinner. Since I already had my dinner I ended up just playing a game called Outlast in the living room. Once my sisters finished eating we all sat in the living room and started playing UNO, my oldest sister Maricris (her real name is Maria Christina, but we call her Maricris) and her boyfriend Mark wanted to play Mario Kart, so I just went with them. I turned on my Nintendo Switch and logged onto my account, then gave each of them a controller. We all chose our characters, of course I chose the inkling girl. We played 4 rounds my older sister getting more angry each time she lost, and Mark getting happier each time he was closer to winning. I, being a professional at Mario Kart, won every time! Later on at around 10:00 pm Roni and Maricris wanted to get some ice cream, we all went down to Walgree

  Friday, March 24, during math I had an incentive day! Basically there is a percentage in Khan Academy, a few weeks ago I had 9%. My teacher Ms. Choe made it so we had to go up at least 10% to get our incentive. We did not know what our incentive was we just needed to get 10% to find out on a later date. On Friday in the morning my teacher announced what we would be doing for our incentive and who earned it. At 9:20 we found out the incentive was to eat ice cream instead of doing math. The people who earned the incentive including me left to the next room. The teacher called up my table and served me chocolate and vanilla. I got sprinkles and chocolate syrup then went back sat down, and ate it.

   It’s been a while since I did a Slice of Life, but here I am! Yesterday was my last day of PARCC testing and we ended it with a math test. The third math test was the shortest out of all of them, it was definitely the hardest out of all of them though. The test was 11 questions long and it was stressing me out, to be honest a few of my answers were just me guessing because I really didn’t know how to do them. After I finally finished my test I opened my sketchbook and started drawing a few characters, I don’t ever really think about who I’m drawing, I just draw. I was sort of thinking of Aphrodite when I drew this character, she wore a yellow robe dress thing, long hair, and a crown made of golden leaves.

    Today we started PARCC testing! I’m always nervous before we start it, but it really is nothing to worry about. Today we did the first ELA test, in my opinion it was very easy to complete. The questions were pretty simple and I didn’t have to do much work. There were also only 11 questions. Once I finished my test I opened up my sketchbook and started drawing and sketching out a few character designs. I stole my friend Jimmy’s colored pencils so I could color my drawings. For the rest of the week and some of next week we will be testing. If I’m being honest I like doing tests more than actual work because you don’t actually have to learn anything!

    During the weekend there was an event called the splatfest for Splatoon 2. The teams were Chicken Came First vs Egg Came First. Since I like going against science I chose team Chicken. I was playing all day and eventually became the rank “Chicken King” my character was using the male model so he was a Chicken King. I didn’t like that rank though because is didn’t sound as good as Chicken Champion, which is the rank before Chicken King. My cousin and my two online friends had the idea to change all our names to my username, use the same gear, same weapon, and be on the same team. When we killed people they wouldn’t know who is who which would be confusing. After three rounds we changed our name to one of my other friends, changed our gear, weapon, etc. the next day after the Splatfest had ended my team had won! After that I went to the Nintendo Direct since I hadn’t watched it yet, and it was announced there was going to be an Octo Expansion Pack! I ended up convincing my Mom to buy

        Last night I had been playing Splatoon 2 with friends when I was getting a little hungry. After the third round I left and told my friends I would be back in about five minutes. Instead of getting actual dinner I just got some chips and this black and lemon tea. I walked into my room holding the tea and the chips and sat at my desk along with my Nintendo Switch. I talked to my friends taking a few sips of the tea and eating some chips. Me and my friend ended up playing hide and seek in splatoon and I lost because she kept giving away my spot... it was still really fun though! I ended up leaving to go talk to my other friend Paetyn and play regular battles with him. After about half an hour we left.

        I woke up at around 7:01, since I fell asleep on the floor my back hurt a bit. I got up and it was extremely sunny outside. I got dressed for school and put away my stuff. Since I had an hour before school I turned on my Nintendo Switch and played a bit of Splatoon 2, surprisingly every game I played I won! I stopped playing and went downstairs so I could eat some cereal right before I had to leave to school. I got out the milk, a bowl, a spoon, and Krave cereal. I quickly ate it and grabbed my backpack and iPad bag and went out the door into the car. It took about five minutes to get to school I got out of the car and walked across the road. I went inside the school and now I’m in class!

      My dad had told me to go to Walgreens which is outside of my house across the street to go buy tomato sauce so he could make something for dinner. I went upstairs to get my shoes, my phone, and my earbuds. I connected to a voice chat with my online friends and talked to them along the way to Walgreens. It started raining on the way and I was really cold as I was only wearing a sweater and some leggings. I walked across the street into Walgreens and went into an isle with a bunch of cans. I looked down and found one can of tomato sauce, then looked on the other side to find another can of tomato sauce. I grabbed them both and walked to the cashier and handed him 10 dollars even though it cost two. He gave me my change and I made my way back home. I opened my house and went inside to give my dad the change and the cans of tomato sauce. My dad then told me to make rice. He told me three cups of rice and then four to four and half cups of water. I put in three cups of rice and then t

   Since I had nothing to do I thought of playing with my cats. I went downstairs from my room and got out the cat toys. My cats came running up to me and started clawing at the toys as soon as they saw them in my hands, leaving me with about 6-7 scratches on my hand. I yelped because the younger cat, Aaron scratched my hand and his claw cut my skin. I was pretty much used to getting a lot of scratches so I just let it be. Since their scratching post was out I put some catnip on it and the female cat Arya walked over to it and started purring and rolling around on it. I grabbed a mouse toy with a bell inside and threw it across the floor and Aaron chased it while Arya was holding a pink unicorn plush in her mouth and continues to roll on the scratching post with catnip on it. It got late pretty quickly so I put the toys where they could continue playing with them and went upstairs.

      Since I had slept over at my cousins house, my dad picked me up. Once I said goodbye to my Aunt Lisa and my two cousins I walk outside and hop into the car. I open up my Switch and open the game “Super Mario Odyssey” The game loads and I’m in Bowser’s Kingdom. I left off there because I felt I needed a break for that game since I was terrible at it! I played the game for a bit screaming in my head because I kept dying, which led to me losing money... I eventually fell asleep? If I am being honest, I didn’t notice I fell asleep. I woke up after what seemed like two seconds got out of the car and stretched. I went up to my room, and now I’m writing a blog! And this is how I end it.

     We had just finished playing just dance when I the five year old game Outlast finally downloaded on my Nintendo Switch. Me and my cousin Mj plug my Switch into the dock and open up Outlast. I quickly open Discord and video call Jimmy so he can walk me through the game. I make a new game and Jimmy tells me once I get out of the car that the character is driving to go through the small gate on the side, I start playing around and walk into the wall instead of the gate! I finally actually listen to Jimmy and walk through the gate. I finally get into the asylum and it’s extremely scary. I walk over through a few doors, when I finally go through one and a human body hanging from their foot.. my cousins and I literally screamed! I had to go into the security office and try to use the power. The power then turned off then I had to go into a closet to hide to avoid dying, I was too scared to continue so I finally closed the game.

   I’m sitting in a cold car about to make my way to school. I open up my phone and open the app “Discord” I click a server with the icon of a Dolphin on it called “Sandwich v4.” I start to complain on the server about my math quiz in first period. My friend started yelling me and saying “Ace that test!!” I continued complaining until he muted me on the text channel so I couldn’t text anyone at one point. I went into his direct messages and begged him to unmute me. I told him I was studying and showed him a picture of my finished homework... that I did two weeks ago. He thought I was currently doing it so he unmuted me on the server. After a few minutes I finally arrived at school, turned off my phone, and made my way inside the gym.

   Yesterday, after school I was playing Splatoon 2. My Nintendo Switch friend invited me to his Salmon Run online lounge to play. I was about to take a nap since I felt as if I were to fall asleep, but I got the notification saying “Crunchy has invited you to their room!” I turned on my Nintendo Switch and opened up Splatoon, I walked over to the shady corner where the lobby for Grizzco stood in the top left corner of the map. I pressed the Online Lounge and joined his Salmon Run lounge. There was 100% lots and lots of screaming and dying involved but we made it to the end without losing, surprisingly. We lost the game in the second half, three bosses were trying to kill us the boss called Griller, Drizzler, and Maws. I was the last player alive until the Drizzler of course killed me... It was a very suspenseful game, it was also foggy, high tide, and night.

    I hear a faint ping noise coming from my phone I can hear it over and over again. Then I finally rise up and rub my eyes, weirdly it doesn’t seem like it’s morning... it’s very dark and I can’t even see anything, I look over to my phone and see somebody has been texting me on an app I have called Discord. I then see the time, 1 AM!? Who could be texting me at this time at night? I swipe the notification and unlock my phone, I read the message and it says “hey k8 lets play sploon2!!! I’m bored” It was from my friend Leo. Since I’m a nice person, I agreed to playing. I got onto the game Splatoon 2 on my Nintendo Switch, Leo ends up calling me. My voice is very quiet and low, of course it is still 1 AM so I wasn’t going to talk very loud, my parents were sleeping in the next room. We decided to play regular turf wars.     My topic for my essay is if video games cause violence or not. I chose this topic because I strongly believe that video games do not cause kids to be violent or aggressive in later life. I think this because  in the games there are clear warnings saying there is violence and warnings, so parents know that there is violence in the games before they buy them. Kids may have other reasons why they turn violent, they may be abused by their family, bullied at school, or something even worse that takes a toll on their behavior.

   I honestly think we should wear uniforms. For me wearing uniforms is easier because then planning out my outfit would be much easier. If you wear uniforms wearing the same clothes as everyone else could lower the chances of you being bullied, even though you can be bullied no matter what, getting bullied by what you wear would be out of the question. You don’t need to wear your own clothing to express yourself, clothes don’t describe you. You can express yourself by how you act or what you like, you really don’t need to use clothes. It’s really simple. People who wear uniforms are also proven to have done better in school and become more focused. Students who don’t wear uniforms could be a distraction, for example, if someone wears a shirt with a big design or something funny on it people might be distracted and want to look at it. It’s just better to wear uniforms in my opinion.

   I didn’t really do anything special last Friday, I pretty much just played Splatoon 2 all day with online friends. Since my cousin also stayed home we played in private battle and played hide and seek. Later one we started to gain more players to play hide and seek and the game was a lot more interesting! After Miranda went to go eat I also left to play ranked battles. After I got bored of playing Splatoon I played online Mario Kart, I usually ended up in 5th or 6th place and very rarely 2nd or 3rd, but never ever 1st. I pretty much just locked myself in my room and played on my Nintendo Switch all day. I went to sleep around 10, and woke up at 1 A.M. because my friend woke me up because he wanted to play Splatoon 2, so I ended up staying up until 3. It was very worth it though, sorta... (;_;)  I woke up at 10 in the morning.

    If I thought orcas should be kept in captivity I would talk about how much joy the shows bring to people. So many children go to watch these shows, but for them to stop would be upsetting especially people who haven’t been able to see a show but really wanted to. I would also talk about how the trainers won’t get hurt anymore since they stand behind the barriers around the pools and how orcas can’t hurt the trainers so they should stay in SeaWorld. Scientists can also go to SeaWorld and study how the killer whales act in captivity and better understand how a killer whale’s body works to better understand why they do things and how, they can also better understand the signals the killer whales give to each other if they are trying to communicate.

You finally wake up from the dream and hear a voice speaking to you, Link walks over to a sort of pillar and on it is a thing that looks like a phone called a Sheikah Slate. Once you get out of the sort of cave you woke up in it’s a completely free world, you can go anywhere you want to and complete as many quests as you can find. The main quest you have before being able to leave the Great Plateau you must find all four shrines in the area to gain a paraglider from a man who turns out to be the King of Hyrule’s spirit. The main focus of the game is to kill Calamity Ganon, but first you must “take over

   When I watched Blackfish it made me a bit upset how they lied about how long the killer whales live and how “25%” of the male killer whales have collapsed dorsal fins. The movie was a bit sad especially when you would hear how SeaWorld blamed Dawn for how she died. The documentary will definitely make you upset at some point, for me it made me really upset when they were talking about the whole capturing killer whales thing, and when they take the baby whales away from their parents. The movie was overwhelming in all. When you learn these things it sort of gives you a shock  to know this kind of work actually happens right here is the US. It’s half hard to believe.

   My New Years resolution this year is to make better choices. For example, I want to make better choices with my time. What I mean by that is when I get home and maybe have homework, I should make my homework my first priority once I get home so I have the rest of the day to play games or chat with my friends. I also want to manage my sleep schedule better, if I’m being honest, I go to sleep at around 2-3 AM almost every day because of my horrible sleep schedule. So I want to be able to go to sleep earlier so I will be less tired in the morning. I want to work on my communication skills too, I want to be able to speak and discuss topics with partners or groups more clearly with all of my subjects. A resolution that hasn’t anything to do with school is for me to draw every single day, and to finish Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild by the end of the year, if not January of 2019.

  For the two weeks of winter break I did some fun things! I celebrated Christmas Eve with my aunts, uncles, granparents, and my mom and dad. We stayed up until 12 AM and wished everyone a Merry Christmas, then we opened all of our presents! I got two games; The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Sims 4, I got an official Hamilton sweater, a Hamilton bobble head, Hamilton comic, a few pairs of clothes, the Wicked book set, and a Sailor Moon sweater and purse. Five days after Christmas is my birthday! I got a cute Wicked themed cake, but instead of it saying Wicked it said my nickname Bella! I spent the day with my friends Alexa, Tiegan, Ariani, and Jimmy. I got too many things to list on my birthday! My favorite presents were from my friend Alexa and my two sisters, Roni and Maricris. Alexa got me snake toys as a joke gift and printed a bunch of pictures of a character named Sr Pelo, my sisters got me a new sketchbook, two Sailor Moon shirts, art supplies, and two Pokemon mangas.
